Tadz Mahal

Poslovica veli da ljubav i planine pomera. Ali, ona veoma retko upošljava i arhitekte. Ljubavne radosti i strasti pretaču se u bajke i pesme, legende i poeme, sonete i romane, u nežne reči prošaptane ispod zvezda-saučesnica, u kletve ravnodušnim i hladnim božanstvima, u veličanje prirode, novele - ali se sve to teško pretvara u mermer i malter, skele i temelje. Nije ljubav vekovima stvarala istoriju arhitekture - bila su to vera i taština. Naravno, svako pravilo ima izuzetaka: u ovom slučaju izuzetak se zove Tadž Mahal, mauzolej u Agri načinjen od belog mermera. To je samo grobnica, doduše kraljevska. Ali, i dijamant je samo kamen, ma kako blistao.

Spomenik nosi donekle izmenjeno ime one koja zauvek počiva među blistavo belim zidovima: Mumtaz-i-Mahal, izabranica, biser dvora. Ona se zapravo zvala Ardumand Banu Begum i bila je kći prvog ministra svemoćnog Velikog Mogula, cara Džahangira (što znači osvajač sveta), vladara Indije koji je tvrdio da poreklo vuče čak od velikog Tamerlana. Princeza je 1607. godine imala petnaest godina, bila je lepa, obrazovana i veoma inteligentna. Bila je i pomalo koketna, što je sasvim normalno za devojku tih godina. Čekala je svog princa na belom konju i otkrila ga je u sinu Velikog Mogula, princu Khuramu. Bio je samo godinu dana stariji od nje, snažan, lep i već slavan kako po svojim junačkim podvizima, tako i po stihovima koje je pisao, a oni su bili dostojni bilo kog priznatog pesnika. Sreli su se prilikom jedne svečanosti. Naime, to je bio jedan od rituala prilikom kojeg su dvorske dame postajale prodavačice i bespotrebne sitnice prodavale vatrenoj gospodi koja su, mada im ništa od toga nije bilo potrebno, skupo plaćala.

All I Need is a Miracle

A woman was walking along the beach when she stumbled upon a Spirit lamp. She picked it up and rubbed it. Lo-and-behold a Spirit appeared. The amazed woman asked if she got three wishes.

The Spirit said, "Nope. Due to inflation, constant downsizing, low wages in third-world countries and fierce global competition, I can only grant you one wish. So, what'll it be?"

The woman didn't hesitate. She said, "I want peace in the Middle East. See this map? I want these countries to stop fighting with each other."
The Spirit looked at the map and exclaimed, "Gadzooks, lady! These countries have been at war for thousands of years. I'm good, but not THAT good! I don't think it can be done. Make another wish."

The woman thought for a minute. She said, "Well, I've been trying to find the right husband. You know, one that's considerate and fun, likes to cook and helps with the housecleaning, has a great sense of humor and gets along with my family, doesn't watch sports all the time and is faithful. That's what I wish for. A good mate."

The Spirit let out a long sigh and said, "Let me see that map again."

This is a verse that Edie had written on his surfboard somewhere on the west coast of the United States and dedicated it to his girlfriend, but during the process he had never thought these lines would eventually go around the world in matter of months and become a part the “Ten” album, forming a “Seattle scene”.

Although this grunge singer was probably talking about love, there is one particular aspect of human interaction that was caught in his poem and that is connection between people.

In order to achieve different goals people “stick” together, forming unions of two , three , hundreds , thousands , millions. That way they can insure safety, not only theirs but the ones near them and also bring prosperity to environment, considering not only financial aspect but also political and educational.

Modern society greatly depends upon human ability to unite. Proper education is a “burning” issue last few years and many leading experts participate in forums around the world discussing about how to improve basic as well as upper educational methods in order to prepare young future academic citizens for their role in adult society. Being in the epicenter of the problem, students are also included in this exchange of ideas therefore the result is inevitable- total blossom of all spectrum of human emotions, cultural heritage and new experiences.
